written and recorded over the course of a month and a half in my apartment in downtown Toronto as well as other locations mentioned below. Mostly mixed at Copper Sound. Mastered in my bedroom, so, uh, blame me for that.
released December 23, 2016
Kristian Noel Pedersen Wrote and recorded the songs (except tracks 1 and 8, which I didn't write), programmed electronic bits, sang and played Wurlitzer 200A, bass on 2, grand piano, Roland JX3P, Dave Smith Mopho X4, CS01, and David's Prophet 6 and Arp.
David Stein: Additional recording / engineering, clarinet on track 5, Fender Rhodes on 6, mixed the album in basically no time and carried me over the finish line.
Nathan Smith came over and recorded all the string parts in under 3 hours on a weeknight. Don't they sound lovely?
Shawn Clarke helped write the chorus on barely there.
Andrew Patten played piano on I'll be home for Christmas with very little guidance and made it sound amazing. Barely There contains samples of this same performance.
Mike Duffield as always killed it on drums. It wouldn't be the same without you, Mike!
Matthew Proctor totally killed it on electric bass on tracks 5, 6 and 7. We recorded it on his bedroom. He did those sweet lines while curled up in bed. Crazy eh? He insists they aren't "walking" bass lines, but I disagree.
Chris Cummings sang on Barely There This Christmas.
Piano recorded at Andrews House (Thanks Andrew!) Drums recorded at The Trailer (Thanks Aaron!) Vocals, rhodes, clarinet and mixing done at Copper Sound in Guelph. (Thanks David!) Everything else recorded at my apartment, which I may call the Loyal Room. New venue this year. Thanks to everyone who lent their time to make this happen and to everyone who we couldn't find time to record this year, see you next November!
